Fond du Lac Emergency Management in coordination with the FDL Police Department, and other Fond du Lac Divisions/Departments make up the Fond du Lac Reservation Emergency Response Team. The Emergency Response Team is a Reservation-wide initiative designed to response to an emergency or disaster in order to protect the health and safety of the public, preserve property and the environment, ensure essential services, and provide continuity of community function.
Emergencies and disasters have affected the Fond du Lac Reservation in the past, and will again in the future. Emergencies are defined as unplanned events which require an immediate response to preserve life, health, property or the environment.
Disasters are crises that overwhelm the community’s ability to respond, and require the use of government powers and resources beyond the scope of one agency or service. Disasters affecting the Fond du Lac Reservation can be from natural causes (thunderstorms, winter storms, fires, floods, tornados or high winds, etc.), man-made causes (explosions, hazardous material releases, pipeline leaks, transportation disasters), or acts of terrorism (chemical, biological, radioactive, nuclear or explosive devices).
Emergency preparedness is collated activities that prepare a state of readiness to respond to extreme events that could affect our community.
If a disaster occurs in our community, local government and disaster-relief organizations will try to help you, but you need to be ready as well. Local responders may not be able to reach you immediately, or they may need to focus their efforts elsewhere.
Everyone should know how to respond to severe weather or any kind of disaster that could occur in your area - tornadoes, flooding, blizzards, wind or fire, hazardous accidents or even terrorism.
You will find a number of different preparedness factsheets, checklists and other resources here to help you be prepared.
Fond du Lac Emergency Evacuation Routes (these are recommended Routes to use during an Emergency/Incident, first responders may give alternative routes due to accessibility to routes.)
FDL Emergency Alert System
This system enables Fond du Lac Band to deliver critical information to our community or staff about a wide variety of situations, including safety alerts, public health emergencies, evacuations, meeting cancellations and office closures.
